Airports are often named for an area where they are. Lately however, a custom has arisen especially in USA, to name airports after famous people connected with them. -Thus Chicago O'Hare is named after a famous US Navy pilot from Chicago. - Just north of this is General Mitchell Airport named after United States Army Air Service General Billy Mitchell, who was raised in Milwaukee and is often regarded as the father of the United States Air Force.
