How will a lever make lifting the block onto the sled easier?

Levers, like gears, pulleys, block and tackle, allows you to trade a long and weak movement for a shorter and stronger movement.
This is helpful when you want to move heavy objects.
A basic example is a pair of pliers. The handles will move a lot longer than the jaws, but the jaws will pinch a lot harder than you'd be able to do with your hands. That's the levers, or the leverage, allowing you to trade a long and weak movement for a short and strong movement.
