I partially agree with the other poster with one exception ... find a narcissist that goes to ANY psychiatrist! That's the problem, they are so egotistical and so right that they refuse treatment. Marcy You can put a website up, or, you could advertise in the paper. When you interview people be sure you have someone else with you for safety sake as you never know who you meet over the web or through the paper. Be prepared! Study the information of Narcissism before interviewing. Make up a questionnaire so you can have the participants answer these questions, get their telephone numbers and then after interviewing go over each questionnaire and decide from there. Good luck Marcy I would contact treating psychiatrists to refer a patient or other MH treaters the problem with putting an add in the paper is you cast too big a net and will have trouble screening. if you use a paper i would say people currently under veriafiable treatment for NPD needed for documentary - you will still get plenty of volunteers

How do you cure your narcissism?

Narcissism can be difficult to treat at times, but it depends on the client. If the client is truly motivated (which yes, does happen despite what you may read online), treatment requires that the therapist be particularly skilled in the treatment of this disorder. There are some very specific therapeutic interventions that can significantly reduce symptoms for a motivated client. If you, or someone you love, are suffering from narcissism I would recommend searching online for someone in your area that has had proven success with this area of treatment. Personally, I have found working with narcissism to be both enjoyable and fulfilling. So, to summarize, find someone in your area that both enjoys working with narcissism and has had success in its treatment.

Is a narcissist mom a form of abuse?

Yes. Well, somewhat. Her narcissism probably bothers you, (or someone else). Narcissism is a nasty disease & does affect others around them. It could be intentionally or unintentionally putting someone down, and that's somewhat emotional/mental abuse. She may one day lead you, ( or someone else) to think that she's better than you and can do things that you can't. Hope this helps:)
