The atmosphere is made up of Oxygen, Hydrogen, Methane, Helium, Argon, Ozone Carbon Dioxide, without these gases the conditions would be very nasty, almost like what its like on the Moon, the water will go, life will die, everything will become nothing. and the Earth will be a dead planet.

Dead. Like the moon.

Without an atmosphere, the Earth's surface would be bombarded by the Sun's radiation. Without air to carry heat from the sunlit portions to the shadows, the sunlit parts would be blazing hot, while the shadows (even close to sunlit areas) would be bitterly cold.

The moon is the same distance from the Sun as Earth, being in orbit around it, and the conditions there range from +300F to -250F. There is very little that is in the middle of those extremes. As soon as the sunlight hits an area, it heats up rapidly. When the moon rotates an area into shadow (or night), the area radiates that heat quickly and ends up at the lower extreme after a short time.

Where in space does the greenhouse effect occur?

The greenhouse effect does not occur in space, it occurs within the Earth's atmosphere. Without the greenhouse effect, most living things would freeze to death.

Why is the greenhouse essential for life on earth?

The greenhouse effect is essential for life on earth because organisms must be kept at a warm enough temperature to grow. Without the greenhouse effect organisms wouldn't be warm enough.

Is the Greenhouse effect necessary?

Yes, the greenhouse effect is necessary to keep the earth warm enough for life. Without the green house effect we would all be dead.

How would earth be different without the greenhouse effect?

A lot colder. A LOT

Does the greenhouse effect occur on the moon or the earth?

The greenhouse effect comes about when greenhouse gases in the atmosphere capture heat rising from the surface of the planet. As the moon has no atmosphere, it could not have a greenhouse effect. So the answer is: The earth.

How does the greenhouse effect earth?

the greenhouse effect influences the earth by cause global warming. The reason why is because the greenhouse effect, traps heat in our atmosphere, causing the earth to heat more than usual.

What is the temperature of it atmosphere is increased by the greenhouse effect?

Both Earth and Venus have increase temperature due to a greenhouse effect. Venus has a much stronger greenhouse effect than Earth does.

Is the enhanced greenhouse effect essential for life on earth?

The greenhouse effect is essential to life on earth. The enhanced greenhouse effect is not. In fact if it is enhanced too quickly it can be harmful to life.

Where on earth besides in a greenhouse does the greenhouse effect occur?

In the atmosphere. The greenhouse effect refers to the situation in the atmosphere where gases hold on to the heat rising from the earth.

What planet has an atmosphere with a greenhouse effect?

EarthVenusMarsThe greenhouse effect occurs on every planet with an atmosphere (including Earth). On Venus, there is a runaway greenhouse effect causing temperatures high enough to melt lead.Mars has a greenhouse effect that is weak because of its thin atmosphere.

When did the Greenhouse effect start?

The Greenhouse effect started long before humans were on Earth. The Greenhouse effect is only intensified by the presence of humans.

What is the beautiful effect of the greenhouse effect?

The beautiful effect of the greenhouse effect is that it keeps us warm. The natural greenhouse effect is supported by the water and carbon cycles moving water and carbon in and out of the atmosphere, in balance. Without this natural effect the earth would be much colder, probably frozen, and we couldn't survive.
