Humming noise on the front passenger side of a 1997 Ford Explorer XLT may be due to a bad tire. Try to jack up the tire and spin it by hand to see if the noise is there.

You have a 98 blazer it makes a humming-grinding noise in the front passenger side when driving stright going about 70mph and when you start to slow down it starts to make the noise What is it?

It is the front hub/bearing assembly; this is a fairly common problem. Buy a new one from the dealer; some aftermarket ones are worse.
