Heavy bleeding and cramping whats wrong could it be a miscarriage?

Hello, You didn't mention whether you're pregnant or not. If you are pregnant then you need to go to ER as its possible you could be having a miscarriage. If you're not pregnant then its a heavy period.

∙ 12y agoI had heavy bleeding and cramps at 9.5 weeks and knew i was going to have a micarriage , i phoned the early pregnancy unit straightaway and they said i could only have a scan when the bleeding had stopped so i stopped bleeding about 4 days later and the scan revealed the baby had gone , i am now 5 weeks pregnant , i was advised to have a period first and conceive on the next period and bingo i am pregnant again and i am hoping this preganancy will be fine , my friends have all had miscarriages and gone on too have healthy children , what makes me feel positive is that i am not the only woman who has been through this .

this could be signs of an early m/c or it could be normal. i sugguest calling your doctor & going for a check-up. sometimes m/c can be avoided if you limit your activities & sometimes it just means there was something wrong with the egg & sperm when they joined. good luck. Month and a half? Very common to have miscarriages. Ususally SEVERE cramping though... then HEAVY bleeding. My 90% guess is a miscarriage, though.

You need to call your doctor or midwife, to see if they want you to be evaluated. Depending on the amount of bleeding and the severity of the pain, you could be having a miscarriage or you could be having placenta issues. Bleeding and cramping in the second trimester is not normal.

Yes this was most likely a miscarriage. Especially if you experienced abdominal crmaping & vaginal bleeding. If you didn't experience cramping & bleeding then it most likely wasn't a miscarriage but uterine tissue being released which does happen sometimes - its your uterus way of clearing itself out fully.
