I always lose my earrings so I would like to know if it would be safer to get pierced earrings that have screw on backs or traditional pin backs?

If you are often times losing your earrings, it is probably because you are using traditional pin backs. Either type of back is safe as long as the screw backs are not put on too tightly and cause infection.

What you need to do is get rid of the Sheppard's hooks on those earrings, the earring it's self weighs too much for the hook and is actually cutting your lobe over time, change the hooks to a thicker gauge wire and you should be OK
