absolutely its alot quicker and better graphics out of it as well i suggest you switch if your tv has HDMI

It could possibly be because you have it on the wrong channel once it goes blank. That was the problem I had with it anyway. If you were using a normal cable before you will need to remove it, then reset your ps3.
