The caliper is probably sticking. With the car jacked up and on a jack stand and the wheel removed, see if you can turn the caliper. You can probably see what's sticking this way.
i was wondering whether the switch at the parking brake could affect this problem.
Air in the brake lines
The abs light being on for a 2000 Cavalier indicates a brake problem. The brakes could lock up when the pedal is pushes hard, or pulse.
A brake fluid leak in the brake system, LOW BRAKE FLUID.
You're sure it is water and not brake fluid coming from the master cylinder?
The caliper could be hanging up. Or your right front brake line could be coming apart or kinked. that will cause it to pull left.
There could be a problem with the power of common ground to the Cavalier light and sun roof. Check the fuses and wiring for the problem.
yes and you could DIE!
Brake light switch runs through your headlight/turn signal seitch in steering column. This switch could be malfunctioning.
brek pads
Brake fluid in reservoir below acceptable level.
A defective brake light switch could cause the problem. Also a defective turn signal switch could also. The brake lights work through the turn signals. It cancels the brake light so that the turn signal can work.
