Open hood passenger up against windshield near wiper should ba a removable plastic panel (2 screws) filter should be inside

I could not find any reference in the 1999 Explorer owner's manual to a filter for the cabin or passenger compartment air filter. The 2000 model shows a dash warning symbol for the passenger compartment air filter - but that's all the information I could find about it.

Replace the cover to secure the new filter elements into position. 7. Replace the silencer panel and properly dispose of the used filter elements.
