It depends if the Word and Excel are OEM copies (ie the software was installed on the machine by the suppliers), then the license usually prohibits transferring to other machines as the software is only licensed for the original machine.

If they are "regular" copies, then you will need the original CDs. You should be able to de-install the XP versions and install the software from the CDs.
