if your tailpipe is pouring smoke then you have internal engine problems and need to take it to a mechanic or you need to change your oil
in the exhaust system
Look on the exhaust pipe ahead of the catalytic convertor for a spark plug sized sensor screwed into the pipe. On a 1988 Cheyenne it is located on the left side of the engine on the exhaust manifold.
It should have 2 and they are screewed into the exhaust system/Pipes.
It will be smoking black out of the exhaust / Running RICH. Spark plugs will be fouled out/ Black. Replace them if it is running rich. Plugs will not fix your problem. Replace map sensor.
where is the transmission censor located on a 1997 Chevy cheyenne truck
A Chevy Cheyenne and Silverado are the same its just that they changed the name in Mexico from Silverado to Cheyenne
Yep
replace the electric part under the distributor costs nothing at a junk yard
I believe 1998 was the last year for the cheyenne option package.
most 88-98 Chevy pickups are basically the same. the only difference between yhe cheyenne and silverado is the trim.
when running acand adling tuck vibration bad
It's not. You need to replace valve cover gasket on that side. Now if your engine is smoking out of the exhaust and running real rough then you may have piston problems on that cylinder causing oil to come out of the spark plug hole. Rebuild time.
