I have a 1994 Taurus SHO the interior lights dont come on until i turn the key when i turn the car off they work normally if i leave and come back in an hour they dont work until i turn the again?

This is because when you turn the key it starts lights, radio, engine, etc. After you turn the car off it still needs a few minutes to turn off as the battery isn't extremely fast. When you come back in a hour it most definitely should have turned off or your car has a problem or you forgot to put your light on automatic.
EDIT:
no the lights go off normally a couple seconds after i get out, lock the car, and shut the door. but when i come back after an hour or more, the interior lights do not come on until i unlock it, get it, and turn on the ignition

did you check the bulb if it is not that it could be the plunger on the door jam is just stuck or bad If so equiped, you have a switch in your overhead switch group that disables the interior lights until you enable them again.

I just had this problem with my 94 taurus. It turned out to be the light switch on the steering column. I am not sure what it is called, but it is the "lever" you use to turn on the brights and blinkers. My hazzard lights were not woking either. I replaced it and all has been good for about a year now. This is a continuation of the question. The head lights turn on, but all 4 of the marker lights and the dash lights don't come on. I have to keep turning the light switch on and off until they eventually come on. Once I have dash lights and marker lights they stay on normally until I shut the car off, then I have to start all over again. All fuses in the fuse box are good and not loose.
