I have a 2000 Hyundai accent hatchback Windshield wipers work fine but washer fluid does not pump water?

My son fitted a new windscreen washer motor /pump yesterday. It fits under the washer water reservoir and needs to be accessed from under the front off-side wing on my accent 1.5cdx W/2000 reg. awkward to get the plastic bolts out to remove the protecting cover.
