Yes, that is possible. The cat may be broken up in pieces inside and restricting the exhaust. When the exhaust has cooled off, slide under the vehicle (raise it up some if necessary) and thump the cat with your fist, if you hear something rattle inside replace the cat.
Possibly. Start with the basics. New plugs, plug wires, fuel/air filter. If the problem presists, have the converter checked at a muffler shop.
sounds like the cadileadic converter or muffler is pluged
Actually it is not the muffler that contains platinum it is the catalytic converter. The catalytic converter (or "cat" as muffler shops and mechanic's call them) is usually in front of the muffler.

Because of your muffler.
No
The catalytic converter resembles a muffler and is located in the exhaust system between the engine and the muffler.
i have a 1994, it looks like it has 2, but the second one might be a glasspack muffler or somthing....it doesnt look like a catylytic converter, and when i took off my muffler my car sounded amazing.
The catalytic converter is always in front of the muffler. Somewhere in the first third of the exaust system. Varies car to car.
Hacksaw
Check exhaust hangeers and clamps Check the heat shield on the catalytic converter Cold be a broken baffle inside the muffler
Muffler should be after the cat.
