Relations between Britain and FranceThese are basically sound despite occasional disagreements. AnswerDo France and England get along?

Hmmm! Well we built Concorde together and the channel tunnel so there are times when we can co-operate on a grand scale. I could bring up the many Anlgo-French wars of the past or argue that French lack of enthusiasm in 1940 dropped the English in it up to our necks, that deliberately preventing the UK from entering the Common Market (EU) in its early years while gearing the subsidy system to its own advantage and then expecting Britain to foot the bill was a bit selfish. Or I could mention Frances distinct lack of support during the Falklands war and some of the less than polite posturing during the run up to the Iraqi war , or the apparent Anglophobia that seems to periodically sour French relations not only with England but with the United States also but nuff said about all that.

Suffice it to say that when the chips are down we know the French will be right behind us and after all, England is indeed closer to France than to any other foreign country ( and taint that channel just beautiful!).
