If it is leaking under the truck it is not the heater core that is leaking. It would leak inside the vehicle on the passenger side. There is a drain tube for the A/C that is under the vehicle on the passenger side, and water from that with the A/C on is normal. If it is coolant, check the heater hose connections at the firewall. If you find that the heater core is actually leaking, replace it. No other repair is permanant.
The diverter, or blend, door, is not working properly, The door is either feeding the heat through the defroster, or closing the heat completely off.
no
Have you checked you heater control valve or heater core if working properly.
Only the blower motor not working.
Why the heater or defroster may not work in a 1993 Chevy Caprice Classic because of the heating core is going out.
Yes they have a heater/defroster.
probably heater core btw 8hrs have to remove whole dash
This means that you have either an issue with a vacuum line or one of the a/c - heater doors behind the dash is not working correctly and you need to start off at the a/c - heater controller to check that all positions are working...........
The heater blower may not be working properly. Without the heater blower working, the air will not come through the vents.
Replace your heater selector switch
Anything electrical in your car can drain your battery- your lights, windshield wipers, defroster and heater fans and surely any sound system,-radio, CD and tape player. Even starting your car drains the battery. Usually this a not a problem if your alternator is working to charge and your battery can take and hold a charge. Driving short trips where you run your heater/defroster and maybe play and radio and/or use your headlights can run down a good . but aging battery even when the alternator is working properly. I knew a person whose battery kept mysteriously running down-- finally they found the trunk light was not turning off when the lid was closed-- a hood light or glove compartment light could do the same thing.
Ok..I figured it out. Turns out the rear defroster is the problem. When I unplugged it from the back windshield, blower/heater works great!! So...to all those out there..if your blower motor blows fuses...check the blower motor first...then the HVAC and heater fuses, then rear defroster if you have a cavalier!
