There is no problem! It's called honesty and both of you should tell your mates as soon as possible that you are breaking off with them. Don't add salt to their wounds by telling them that you two have fallen in love.
Dump them nicely and stuff and they'll get over it. maybe leave it a while though, they might be hurt if you went out with someone else straight away or something so yeah, maybe a week or so, probably more.

The person that is dating someone and likes someone else needs to decide what they want because they can't have both and it is just not fair to anyone. Always remember honesty is the best policy and someone is going to get hurt in the end either way but being upfront and truthful would be the best bet in which ever decision is made because if you break up with someone to be with someone else they are going to find out anyway but if you decide to stay with that person there can be no indiscretions between you and the other person.
