Battery?? do the headlights work? gas gauge?? does it work? any?? starter?? does it turn over? air filter??? is it clogged?? spark plugs?? are they dirty and/or firing?? no fire?? check distibutor?? injector??? is there gas getting to the it?

Should be 12 volts, check the fuel pump relay and clean the ground wire to the fuel pump. In fact clean all the ground connections on the vehicle.
Check the dimmer knob. If that isn't it. Check your fuse. Might not be the problem, but it's a place to start

If you look under the car, passenger's side, it should be right there up under the engine, or at least that is where it is on a 1998 KIA sephia.
Find out if you need fire or fuel then go from there.
