How many steps are there in how a bill becomes a law?
There are a total of 9 steps: 1) a member will write the bill. 2) the bill will be sent to a subcommittee. 3) if it survives there it will go to the full committee. 4) if its approved there, it will be sent to the House Rules Committee. 5) if its approved there then it will go to the full House. 6) if its approved there, then it will go to the senate. 7) floor leaders in the Senate will have to approve it. 8) Then if there are any difference between the House version and the Senate then it will have to go to the Conference Committee. 9)then to the president
