I believe you are referring to the utilization of energy in cattle. So, if you are referring to a cow eating 100% gross energy in terms of feed (grain, hay, silage, etc.), then the amount of waste that comes from that is in this order:
5% gaseous energy
20% heat energy
30% fecal energy
5% urinary energy
20% Production Energy - Milk, reproduction, growth
20% Maintenance Energy
So therefore, a total waste of 60% is given off and excreted as waste from the gross energy consumed, with only 35% given off as urine and feces.
