Explain to him why you couldn't make it that time but you would like to go out with him if he is still interested. If he ignores this then he is not worth it anyway.

Don't sweat it, that's a good sign it means that he likes you back. Trust me, ive been in the same situation, eventually he'll get over it and start speaking to you again and when he does he will see that he likes you, it'll kick off from there, promise!
