The typical man that has a mistress is doing so to feed his ego. Trust should be none existent. He has already proven his lack of worth and the ability to violate some very important promises he has made to people he claims to care about.
He obviously is not capable of telling the truth and you should assume the relationship is based on nothing except his ego.
As a mistress you may also wish to take a look at what you want from life and how helping someone cheat and feed his ego by lowering yourself is working for you overall.
