Personally I think that in Christian theology, The Bible makes it pretty clear that anything that takes up more time, energy, emotion and/or thought than God is an idol. So even if you don't consciously think that games are better than God, if you're spending 24/7 playing them, and not thinking about God at all, it's idolatry.. sorry. I agree with you there, as I am a Christian and know a bit about theology.
I agree with the above. Games in themselves are not wrong necessarily, but it is the type of game and what it takes you away from that matters. If you are neglecting your spiritual life and family etc. then it is wrong. God wants us to enjoy ourselves but not to the exclusion of the most important things. See Matthew 6:33.
