a healthy person eat fruits and vegetables
It's complicated and the exact cause will vary from person to person. It can be as simple as just feeling insecure about oneself and thinking that being bulimic will help control weight gain (in reality it usually does not help control weight gain). It can start with poor nutrition from bad eating habits, which then spirals out of control when instead of dealing with the eating habits the person decides to control or lose weight by being bulimic. There are definitely psychological/emotional reasons behind it. However, there are also chemical/environmental reasons too. You need to realize that bulimia is an addiction and certain people have been shown to be genetically susceptible to addictive behaviours. In other words, some people are more likely to become bulimic than others based on their genetic code. In terms of environment, things that happen to the bulimic person in the past or present (and maybe things that are expected to occur in the foreseeable future) can be making the person bulimic. For example, sexual abuse can make a person become bulimic. So can personal unhealthy relationships with family, friends, and others that may put a person under emotional pressure.
