What age you have to be to join the police?

In most places in the U.S. it's 21 or older. Locally to me, you can be a police service tech, which is a person that works traffic accidents and writes tickets, but is not a commissioned officer, at 19, and then once you are 21, you can be become a commissioned officer.

Can you do something if a police officer writes a sexual insult on your citation. For example I got pulled over and on the ticket it says my car color is gay and I take that offensive?

It is highly unlikely that any police officer would purposely write such a thing on a ticket. It is probably a misspelling of 'gray'.

What happens if a police officer writes an incomplete ticket?

If the ticket is deficient in some critical item then it will likely be dismissed. If it is missing something like the color of the car, that will not affect the ticket.

Can state troopers pull over city police?

Yes. A police officer is not exempt from traffic laws simply because he's a police officer. Any officer can stop and ticket another. Who works for what agency is not a factor. But the cold reality is that it would have to be a very clear and very serious violation before a ticket would be given. Too often the safety of a police officer depends on other officers and other agencies. If you are known as a cop who writes unnecessary tickets to other cops, that big bar fight can be a very lonely place.

What is the title of the person who writes parking tickets?

Parking or other traffic infringement tickets are issued by a police officer or other authorized person, depending on local legislation. The title of the issuing officer might be Parking (or Traffic) Officer; this again depends on the locality.

Is it legal for a police officer ot force you to pay for a ticket before your court date?

No police Officer has the power to make you pay a ticket before the court date. I happen to be a police Officer. When a Police Officer writes you a traffic citation he will give you a Court date that you are suppose to attend to prove your innocence. If you choose not to attend court you have the option to pay the fine. Paying the fine before your court date basically is saying that you are guilty. If the officer tells you to just pay the fine reason being is that he either has a weak case against you or he wont show up to court. Now for Example if you plea not guilty in court the Judge will give you another court date to attend in which the officer will be given a subpoena to testify against you. If the Officer does not show up in court the case will be dismissed.

In New York if the police officer writes a speeding ticket with the wrong date of offense can you get it dismissed?

Yes. Just be able to prove where you were at the time written on the ticket. Can you PROVE beyond a shadow of a doubt that you were somewhere else at the time/date on the ticket?

What is the maximum fine the police can give you?

Assuming you mean regarding a traffic violation, in most places, the police officer doesn't set the fine, he merely writes the ticket and the amount of the fine is determined by local traffic court regulations. As far as the officer is concerned, he can write you as many tickets as there were violations on your part. If you were speeding, and weaving, and made an improper lane change, and ran a stop sign, you can get four tickets (or four things marked on one ticket).
