New furnace and thermostat now air conditioner compressor doesn't work?
If you replaced the furnace and thermostat this past winter, and now the A/C doesn't work. You probably just have a loose control wire. Check the yellow wire at the stat. It should be on the Y terminal. Next, look inside the furnace at the terminal block. The condenser wire should have two conductors. One hooks up with the yellow wire on the Y terminal of the terminal block. The other hooks to the C terminal. Always turn off the breaker to the furnace before working on any wiring. No need to fry the transformer.

What does C FAN HERM mean on a capacitor?
The old capacitor was very swollen and looked like a soda can that had been repeatedly shaken up. Be sure to write down which wires go to what terminal on your capacitor before removing the old one or just take a few pictures. For home air conditioning systems that use dual run capacitors they will have 3 terminals. The terminal labeled "HERM" is for the yellow wire that goes to the "Hermetically Sealed" compressor. The "FAN" terminal gets connected to the brown wire that goes to the condenser fan. Finally the "COM" terminal is for the purple and red wires that go to the contactor and provide power to the capacitor.

How do you reset a goodman compressor?

Replaced the thermostat and the furnace works but wont turn on?

How do you wire a furnace thermostat?
The thermostat is just a low voltage on-off switch. There should be two small wires (assuming you are replacing an old unit) coming out of the wall. These could be any color combination. Connect one wire to each of the terminal screws inside the thermostat housing. Replace the cover and turn it to the desired setting. The furnace should now hum happily until set temperature is reached The `R` terminal on the stat is for the powered wire from the furnace, the `W` terminal is the power back to the furnace to start it those are the 2 to use. If you have 3 wires the third one goes on the `G` terminal, that is to run the fan only if you have a subbase with fan switching (Auto/On) capability. Usually but not always all 3 of these wires will be color coordinated with their terminals (Red,White & Green).
How is Goodman a c wired together?
For your 24 volt control wiring there are 2 wires, one from the Y terminal and one from the C terminal from the furnace or air handler. Y is the signal to turn on the cooling and C is the common terminal from the transformer. The Y terminal on the furnace will continue on to the thermostat, the C terminal might also if the stat is a programmable type powered from the furnace but most likely there is not a place on the stat for C. This is for a single stage AC condenser. The condenser will also have it`s own 230 volt power, fed directly from your breaker panel.

How do one change the thermostat in a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville?
Disconnect negative battery terminal for your safety. Follow directions to remove the upper radiator hose. Inside the metal pipe on the engine where you removed the hose, is where you will find the thermostat. You will need a 10mm socket with an extension arm to remove the two bolts. Pull out the thermostat, noting it's position, and push in the new thermostat with new gasket attached and screw back together. Replace hose and refill coolant.
