If you do not take your complete prescription thinking you are cured, your disease can come back worse than it was. If you take too many antibiotics, you can kill the good bacteria that your system needs.

I am no doctor, but I do know that if you abuse antibiotics or even just don't take them on a regular dosing schedule, your body can build up an immunity to the antibiotic, and then it may not work when you need it to later on in your life.

Health wise, not much, antibiotics are basically dead bacteria. They stimulate you immune system which helps you recover from the active bacteria. A misuse might lead to an immunity to the antibiotics though. In other words, that particular antibiotic would simply not work.

Bacterial resistance is the worse outcome of overuse of antibiotics. It means that this antibiotic won't be effective against the same bacteria and will need a stronger antibiotic to cure the same infection.

Use of antibiotic also have cost issues and risk of side effects. Clostridium difficile infection (bowel infection) is related to overuse of antibiotics too.

You are on antibiotics will one or two beers harm you?

"Harm" no, but alcohol completely makes taking the antibiotic moot. You actually just might as well not take the antibiotic, which of course, you CANNOT, if you are on an antibiotic for any reason. If you do NOT taking it would be absolutly wrong, always remember to take the entire perscription, as directed, as you know, your body could grow immune to the antibiotic if it is not taken correctly, then, the next time you are required to take an antibiotic, your body may not take and use the antibiotic properly.
