Normally there is no statute of limitation on speeding tickets. Some states do have limits on enforcing them. I believe it is one year in CA and two years in PA, for example. Other states have no limits. TX will come after you for a twenty year old ticket. Therefore, you don't need to just ignore the ticket and hope it never surfaces. I would send the court a certified letter stating that the clerk of court (name) has advised that there are no violations against you on file and you are assuming that any such citations have been dismissed. Keep the letter with your tax records where you can find it.
