Can a lightning strike hit a router and damage a wireless device?

If lightning hit's any computer related device, or any thing. it's fried. Where is your router, On the roof high up?! I don't think your router is at risk at getting hit by lightning because it is usually place in your home & maybe by your main computer. If you mean the Outdoor external antenna, If it's grounded properly, no.

What type of electromagnetic wave has a wavelength roughly equal to the height of a person?

Interesting question. Let's say 2 meters for convenience. That's about 6ft 6in. Frequency = (speed)/(wavelength) = 300,000,000/2 = 150 MHz. That's 'VHF' radio waves, with many applications. Right around that frequency is a small piece of spectrum for "ham" operators, some satellite navigation, and some land-mobile "2-way" radio used by taxis, businesses, courier and delivery operations etc. If you go up a bit higher in frequency from there, you arrive at the portion of the radio spectrum which, under the old, traditional scheme of analog television, used to carry TV channels 7 through 13, in the frequency band of 174 to 216 MHz. That range of wavelengths is from 4ft 7.4in to 5ft 7.9in. (1.41 to 1.72 meters) And if you drop down a ways in frequency, to wavelengths of 9.8ft (3 meters), you arrive at 100 MHz. That's the "100" just above the middle of the dial on your FM radio. An easy way to get a feeling for some wavelengths: The horizontal elements or 'sticks' on an outdoor TV antenna are roughly 1/2 the size of the wavelengths they're designed to receive.

Will a digital tv still receive and process an analog signal from an outdoor antenna?

No. There will be no analog signal to receive and process from the outdoor antenna. The only signal coming from the outdoor antenna will be digital. When the conversion is complete. You will need to hook up your antenna directly to the TV. Your conversion box will be worthless as far as analog to digital is concerned.

I'm trying to find the best tv antenna for my area Cadiz Kentucky 42211?

You are going to want to get an outdoor antenna because the signals in your area are weak. You may want to check with local antenna dealers for the best type of outdoor antenna for your area. Either that or look into cable/satellite tv. You will not get a whole lot of channels if any with just an indoor antenna.

How can one setup HD TV antenna?

There are two main types of HD TV antenna: indoor and outdoor. To use an indoor antenna, one simply connects it to the relevant port in the back of the tv, switches it on at the mains and then proceed to find the correct channel settings. An outdoor antenna is generally placed on the roof or high up and may require masonry drilling and electrical connection, so is best left to the professionals.

Can an old tv antenna go bad?

Outdoor antennas don't stand up well. I would replace an antenna after 5 to 7 years even if it looks ok. a new antenna with new lead in coax cable would improve the signal to the TV set.

What kind of cable was used in outdoor TV antennas before coaxial cable?

I`m Not That Old !!!!!!!!!!! Just Kidding. It Was Brown In Color About 1/2 Inch Wide & Flat. The Two Wires That Were In The Antenna Cable Where The Wires One On Each Side. This Ran From Two Screws On The Back Of The TV To An Outside Antenna It Worked, But Not Near As Well As Cable TV. Most TVs Today Still Have A Feature To Use This Antenna To Pick Up Your Local Channels. In The Menu It May Say On Your TV. Cable-UHF VHF. The uhf/vhf is the old style antenna connection. Don`t be supirsed if you find lots of people not having a cable bill to pay & using this antenna watching local channels and enjoying it. Wish I Could Too. The New Way Is Not Always The Best Way. And It Always Costs More. Thank You

Does a digital TV have a built in antenna or tuner that will pick up over the air signals without an outdoor antenna?

I have not seen any digital TVs with a built in antenna. Depending on where you live you could use a simple "rabbit ears" setup or even one with a built in amplifier if you're a bit far from the stations.
