They could like you, but there are many reasons why someone might be mean to you and I wouldn't jump to this conclusion. If cthey keep being mean, ask them what their problem is, or keep out of their way.

it could mean that they want to get your attention but either showing off infront of there friends, or being mean to you so that you dont know that he or she likes you or acting like a jackass just to get your attention. it goes either way.

it means they would not care if someone was as mean to you as mean as they were to you.

sometimes it means they do and its just that they are too insecure to tell the truth and use childish anticks to show how they are feeling inside.

- well, it really depends. Some people are just mean to others, but it could also mean that the person likes you right? So i think the best thing to do in this situation is to just not think about it as much because things seem to mean something else to different people. But its not too bad to keep your hopes up, right? Well I feel indviduals who are mean to you are generally unforgiving people if meanness persists. Otherwise jealousy can bring about meaness as well as a turned downed acceptance of one as a friend, because they feel you are thinking you are better than he or she. And also dominating personalities usually can't accept individuals who are not always submitting to their way or suggestions.

Over the long run, it is easier to hang with someone who says what they mean and who is kind. Zingers and jokes at your expense are barely disguised abuse. So, don't go down the road where you try to interpret what the person really means. Take them as they are, at their word.
