you need to change the bulbs Once the running lights burn out the rest of the bulb doesn't work right one of my low beams went out and the running light would flash a light out display and the rest of the lights would work right. I replaced it and everything went back to normal
You can also try replacing the DRL (daytime running light) relay in the fuse box on the side of the dash. It pulls right out...$12 for replacement.
From my experience the problem may not have to do with the DRL, but with the turn signal switch / headlight switch module. These are approximately 59.00. You will need a steering wheel puller, screwdriver (flathead), and possibly pliers. Be sure to disconnect the battery before servicing though.
yes thay do have DTR on a 1995 sunfire
fuse box on the inside of the car, driver side
On my 98 sunfire, the tail lights and marker lights only work if you turn on the headlights. If only the daytime lights are on, the Pontiac on the trunk is illuminated but no other lights at the rear until brakes or turn signals are activated. This is common with a lot of vehicles out there. Daytime running lights are not necessarily the same candle power as the headlights. I can tell a big difference in mine.
yes, they are always on. as in most gm vehicles they have daytime running lights.
Generally, a blinking DRL indicator on the dash means that there is a headlight burned out. Replacing them is cheap and easy.
headlights
u have a blown headlight. change both bulobs and it will stop.
Had the same problem. Found it to be a bad ground wire for the headlights. There are two ground wires for the headlights, both are directly below the battery. You can see one of them if you remove the drivers side headlight. It is right behind the radiator hose. The other is a few inches from that one.
What you're seeing is not your headlights. They are your Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs'). They are a great safety feature, making you much more visible to other drivers.
I'm guessing that you want to be able to turn off the daytime running lights on your car. As far as I know, there is no such switch on the Sunfire. The daytime running lights are on whenever the car is running and is in gear.
Well, the daytime running lights are on whenever the car is running and in gear. They're off when you have the headlights on. So, your service light Doesn't come on when the headlights are on?? If you switch the headlights between on and off (with the car running and in gear) does the service light follow?
If it's just a round flashing light that has no indication as to it's meaning, it's probably the Daytime Running Light indicator. It's only on when the headlights are OFF. If it's flashing, it generally means that one of your DRL's has burned out.
