An angle and the angle that it is supplementary to have a total measure of 180 degrees.

Let x be the supplementary angle. 4x would be the original angle.

x + 4x = 180
5x = 180
x = 36
4x = 144

So the two angles are 144 degrees and 36 degrees.

One of two supplementary angles is 9 times as large as the other How large is the smaller of the two angles?

Supplementary angles are angles which add to 180o. So, one angle is nine times as large as the other, therefore letting the smaller angle be X, we have the following: 9X + X = 180 10X = 180 X=18o and the other is 9 times this amount or 162o

The measure of the supplementary of an angle is 60 less than three times the measure of an angle?

Two supplementary angles add up to 180 degrees. If one of the angles is x degrees, then the other angle will be 3x - 60. So we have: x + 3x - 60 = 180 4x - 60 + 60 = 180 + 60 4x = 240 4x/4 = 240/4 x = 60 3x - 60 = 3(60) - 60 = 120 Thus, the angles have measures of 60 and 120 degrees.

The supplement of an angle measures 10 times its complement What is the measure of the angle?

Let the angle be A, then the supplementary angle is (180 - A) and the complementary angle is (90 - A). But, 180 - A = 10(90 - A) = 900 - 10A 9A = 720 A = 80° The supplementary angle = 100° and the complementary angle = 10°

Two angles are supplementary three times the measure of the smaller angle is five less than twice of the measure of the larger angle find the measure of each angle?

The angles are supplementary ===> A + B = 180 ===> A = 180 - B. Next statement: 3A = 2B - 5 (We don't know or care yet which one is larger, nor do we need to. That will come out on its own.) Substitute the first into the second: 3(180-B) = 2B-5 ===> (540-3B) = (2B-5 ) ===> 540 = 5B-5 ===> 545 = 5B109 = B ===> 71 = A

Two angles are complementary One angle has a measure that is five times the measure of the other angle What is the measure in degrees of the larger angle?

Complementary angles are angles that add up to 90 degrees. If the smaller angle is x, the larger is 5x, so 6x = 90. X equals 15, and the larger angle measures 75 degrees.

The measure of one angle is seven more than three times he measure of another angle if the two angles are supplementary find the positive difference of the measures of the two angles?

Angle 'A' is 7 more than 3 times angle 'B': A = 3B + 7 The angles are supplementary: A + B = 180 or A = (180 - B) (180 - B) = 3B + 7 180 = 4B + 7 173 = 4B B = 43.25 degrees A = 136.75 degrees Their difference is 93 degrees.

Two angles are supplementary.The second angle has a mesaure five times that of the first Find the measure of the angle?

Suppose the angle is x then the second is 5x. The two angles are supplementary so x + 5x = 180 or 6x = 180 so that x = 30 degrees.

What is the measure of angle T when T is 35 degrees greater than 4 times the measure of its supplement?

Supplementary angles add up to 180°. T - 35 = 4(180 - T) = 720 - 4T 5T = 720 + 35 = 755 T = 151° and its supplementary angle is therefore 29°.

What are the angles in a parallelogram if the measure of one interior angle is 50 degrees more than 4 times the measure of another angle?

Opposite angles of a parallelogram are equal, and adjacent angles are supplementary. Let one angle be θ, then the adjacent angle is 4θ + 50° → θ + 4θ + 50° = 180° → 5θ = 130° → θ = 26° → The two adjacent angles are 26° and 154°. → The angles of the parallelogram are 26°, 154°, 26°, 154°.

What are measures of two supplementary angles if angle A is 5 less than 4 times the measure of angle B?

from the given information,we get, angle b = x angle a = 4x - 5 we know that supplementary angles have 180 degree as their sum , so, 4x - 5 + x = 180 5x - 5 = 180 5x = 185 x = 37 so,angle a = 4x - 5 = 4 *37 -5 = 143 angle b = 37 also angle a + angle b = 143 + 37 = 180
