i would check the belts they are probably loose or worn
Should be at least 3 - AC belt, power steering belt and timing belt.

Most likely the same as other Toyota drive belts which is control power steering, water pump, Air Conditioning pump, alternator and crankshaft.
there are 3 belts the alternator and power steering belts can be accessed from the top right sideloosen the adjustment bolts. the a/c belt is easier with car jacked up from underneath, remove the right plastic splash pan.
You should have several belts. 2 for the alt./AC 1 for the smog pump 1 for the power steering
A 78 Lebaron does not have a serpentine belt. It has Separate belts for the alternator, power steering, AC/Water pump and Smog Pump.
If your Tercel has power steering, use a 14mm socket to loosen the two bolts that secure the power steering pump. Then turn the long jacking screw counterclockwise to loosen the serpentine belt.
