the timing is usually set by adjusting the distributor and using a timing light on the number one cylinder and pointing the light at the harmonic balancer on the bottom of the engine crankshaft pulley, the timing mark on thr balancer should be marked on the correct degree for example 10 degrees before top dead center. as the distributor is turned the timing on the light will adjust to the balancer . to get the correct timing look under your hood for a sticker that has timing and sparkplug gap specs.
a small bit ofen cut off of a piece of topaz
Is there a gauge panel dimmer wheel switch ? Try rotating it , it may be rotated all the way in one direction
yes it is possible, I have done it myself already. take 2-3 screw off the panel were the seat belt runs through and just unplug the clip wire and that will take care of it for ya.
Go to NASASteal a RocketFly Off to Mercury
From Encylopedia Britannicatopaz composition (in topaz (mineral)) Topaz is an aluminum silicate containing fluorine and has a chemical formula of Al2(F,OH)2SiO4. It is formed by fluorine-bearing vapours given off during the last stages of the crystallization of igneous rocks.
90" topaz mercury is getting hot and shut off and the starts when it cool off.? what is the cause of this and how do i fix it?
Have to take off the head, it's there.
it depends on how far it is off . sometimes it requires removing and repositioning the distributor. if it is not much you may loosen the bolt that holds the distributor down and adjust the distributor left or right in order to advance or retard the timing. you will also need a timing light and a grease pencil preferably white in order to mark the timing scale on the flywheel pulley with the right degree for your car. usually two people are better than one since the vehicle will have to be running and always be careful leaning over a running motor not to catah your clothing or body parts (be carefull).
Just take the covers off the steering column, switch is there.
There could be multiple things. FIrst check and see if your battery is bad, if not then take your starter off and get that checked and if that's not bad then its in your ignition system which none of the above is too expensive to fix.
if the timing is off by 9 degrees at the timing belt, your in trouble... you would have bent all your valves..... if its off on the timing tabs then you need a timing light and turn the distributer until you get the desired timing..
Check all the fuses, if all are good, check the shut off relay.
you have to take the timing belt cover off and timing belt to get to the water pump
If you fallow the rad hose off the top of rad there will be a body that the hose is clamped on to at the motor it will be under there
I believe that it is in the trunk left side behind the cardboard panel. Should be a sticker there indicating this.
Check and fix the engine.
What is the engine? Year? If 2.3 L and the engine knocks due to low grade fuel 87 or 89 octane, then just back off the timing. Hope this helps. This engine should run on 87 octane with no problem. If not check the advance, and pick up in the dist.
