Not necessarily. It could mean the baby wasnt seen clearly due to the radiographers fault, the fetus being in a different position or because your not as far along as you first thought.

There is no proved data that ultrasounds are hazardous to fetus. However, in routine practice, three ultrasounds are done one in each trimester of pregnancy. These are considered totally safe by all the gynaecologists. Some ladies might have to undergo through more ultrasounds if some fetus anomaly is suspected. There is no evidence that these ultrasounds were harmful to fetus. So ultrasound during pregnancy is totally safe. The number of ultrasounds required are decided by the gynaecologists.

what was her age anyways?? One thing you need to realise with ultrasounds and determining the age of the fetus is the size of the fetus. Either their dates are correct and your friend fell pregnant after the 15th or she fell pregnant around the 15th and the size of the fetus is a little smaller than average at that age and they are going by that. Get me? ultrasounds are not accurate, especially very early in the pregnancy. So they are saying she fell pregnant around sept 28 because of the size of the fetus and the average a fetus is at that age. Hope this helps.

If you are Five months pregnant and miscarry, yes, you would know. At that point a miscarry would be vary vary painful and bloody with removal of the fetus being necessary. Or it's possible that your doctor will notice the fact that the fetus has failed to thrive and terminate the pregnancy before the miscarriage takes place either way you would defiantly know.
