If you are a state employee in one county and take a new job for the state in another county are you employed by the same company?

You aren't employed by a company, you are employed by the state. All of your benefits should continue as before, hopefully the move came with a promotion or pay raise.

Can a company deny double coverage to married couples working for the same company?
Seems they can. Or at least think they can. I work for Contra Costa County and was just informed effective 4/1/2012 my husband and I can no longer have dual coverage. Since an employee's total compensation package is comprised of health and dental coverage, how is this discrimination against the employee who is married to another benefited county employee justified?

The County employee's that which department is strictly a County Agency that is not affiliated w/and/or contracted w/any State Agency are in deed County employee's such as CESA, Sheriff's Deputies (except most SWAT or BOMB Squads as most are joint County/State/Federal employee's) Common Pleas and Probate Court and/or MRDD. As a former employee of the County Auditor's office, my payroll funds were dependant on the County's funding. Soon thereafter, as a former State Auditor Inspector, my payroll funds were dependant on State funding. The only common payroll item between both departments was that my County PERS funds were transferred to my State PERS fund.

First do you have causation to sue? And if you do, the venue is decided by where the tort took place. So what ever happened, was in another county, then the venue (trial) will have to be held in that county.
