Do you make free throws on your own or does yoour team help?

In a game of basketball, you shoot a free throw if you get fouled. Therefor you shoot the ball on your own. But anyone can get fouled and shoot a free throw! Hope this helps(:

If the wrong player shoots free throws can they be disallowed and the proper player brought to the line after both free throws are made?

If the refs make that big a mistake, then they shouldn't be reffing. That usually NEVER happens in a game. If it does, however, the proper player MUST shoot both free throws (the only time that another player who wasn't fouled can shoot is if the player fouled is injured).

What is a foul in the NBA?

A foul in the NBA is when the referee blows the whistle because of illegal contact. For example, someone is shooting the ball and the defender (the person guarding you on the other team) tries to block it but instead they just whack your arm, it's a foul. When you get fouled, you get to shoot free throws if you are shooting or if a certain person fouls a certain amount of times in a half or if the person who has been fouled has been fouled a certain amount of times, they get to shoot free throws. Free throws are worth 1 point for each one made. You always will shoot 2 free throws, unless if you get fouled when, you are shooting a 3-pointer, then you get 3 shots or if you get fouled a certain amount of times in a half or someone on the other team fouls a certain amount of times, you get what's called a "1 and 1" where you shoot 1 free throw and if you make it, you get to shoot another one but the "1 and 1" is only from leagues that children play in all the way to college. In the NBA, instead of the "1 and 1" you go ahead and get 2 shots.

If a foul happened to the attacking team in the scoring zone how many free throws to they get?

it depends there is one and one where if they are fouled they shoot and if they make it then they get to shoot another but if they miss then its the rebonders ball. also if someone gets fouled shooting if he makes the shot then he gets one shot and they count the 2 points 1+2=3. if he misses then he shoots 2 free throws if he is behind the three point line and he makes it same rule applys 3+1=4 if he misses then he gets to shoot 3 free throws a tech foul guy gets to shoot 3 shoots that's for the coach freakin out or players fighting

What does and 1 mean in basketball?

When a person is fouled while shooting in basketball do they get one free throw if the shot is missed?

Not always. Under HS Federation, NCAA, and NBA rules in order for a (non-shooting) fouled player to shoot free throws the offended team must be in "the bonus". "The bonus" is the number of fouls committed by the opposing team beyond which the ball is put into play by the fouled player attempting free throws rather than getting the ball out of bounds for a throw-in. The number of team fouls required to reach "the bonus" varies by sanctioning body but the principle remains the same. Hope this answers your question.

How many points is a regulation shot in a game of basketball?

If you shoot and make a basket inside the three point line or with your feet on the three point line it is worth two points. If you shoot and make a basket anywhere behind the three point line without your feet on the line it is worth three points. If you get fouled when you are shooting you go to the free throw line to shoot free throws. This is an uncontested, untimed shot that if you make it, it is worth one point.

How many free throws do you get in college?

The same as everywhere else. 2 for a 2 point field and if you miss the shot. 3 free throws for a 3 pointer and if you miss that shot. 1 free throw if you're fouled and you make the shot. 1 or 2 free throws on technical fouls/flagrant or intentional fouls

How many points is a free throws?

A free throw is worth one point per shot that you make. so say if you shoot 3 free throws but only make 1 it would be 1 point.

What is the ruling if one player makes a basket and another player on the same team gets fouled while the ball is in the air?

In college and in the NBA if someone is fouled they have to shoot free throws. Only time I can see if they get another player to shoot is if the player that was fouled gets fouled very, very hard, if he gets knocked out or has to go to the hospital and is seriously hurt, they may let another person take his place, or give the team two points, most likely to make it fair, they'll get another person to shoot. But I've never seen that kind of stipulation before.

Where is the foul shot in the nba?

1.) cant cross line 2.) got 5 seconds to put a shot up 3.) people around the key cant move till it hits the rim or leaves the hands, depending on which league its being played in some tips: 1.) center yourself on the line, most courts have a very tiny dot in the exact center of the line - look for it 2.) don't jump, it messed up your balance 3.) take time to establish a routine, you need to find a way to keep everything the same every time. this will help you make every shot if you can find what works best for you. 4.) completely ignore all distractiosn

What does And 1 mean?

When an offensive player who is not in the act of shooting is fouled, and the defensive team has exceeded the number of fouls allowed ( usually 7 ) The fouled player receives what is called a 1and1. That means that they shoot a free throw, if they miss, that ball is live and play continues. If they make the shot, they get a second free throw.
