Unless one is psychotic then they wouldn't know what sin is or care, but if one isn't then they know deep down they are guilty of a sin even if they don't try to rectify it. When the missionaries went to pre-USA-Hawaii, they were aghast by King Kamehameha's adulterous relationship with his subjects; there were about 19 different Hawaiian sex-practices that were considered adulterous by the Christian missionaries. The missionaries then warned the King that if he did not stop practicing this Sin of adultery, the God will be angry at him and punish him with eternal damnation in hell. King Kamehameha retorted; "What do you mean god will be angry and punish me? I am God!" Moral; what is SIN to some may not be SIN to others... Learn this story from the book "Hawaii" by; James Michener.. The concept of "sin" is a religious construct. If one is not religious, then "sin," as such, does not exist for that particular individual.

∙ 13y agoNo. Sin requires a willful rebellion. Ignorance of a sin makes the act a transgression, but not sin, as such.
^ I am sorry, but you are wrong. I am a pastor for a Lutheran church and went through several years in the seminary. The ignorance of a sin is still a sin. In our hymnal, we have a passage in our confession that says "Lord, I ask you to forgive me of all my sins: the things I have done wrong, and the things I have failed to do; the sins I know and the sins that I do not know; for I have done wrong in your eyes and therefore have no right to be your child. For this I deserve your punishment, both now and in eternity in hell, Amen."
