In general,North American power output from power plants run at
220v to the home receptacle. European power distribution is 110v

Last time I looked, the mains voltage in the UK was 230 - 240
volts, and I have an idea that US mains voltage is 110.
A PlayStation probably runs at a much lower voltage, typically
between 5 and 12 volts which it gets from an appropriate mains
But if you are going to spend the majority of your life in Europe
then you shouldn't. If you are just traveling to Europe, then get a
us. The ps3 is region free, but movies and ps2 games still are
region locked. You will just probably have to buy a new power cord.
