Do NOT put yourself on a starvation diet. It may make you lose weight faster at first, but it will slow down your metabolism considerably, making it harder to keep losing weight. Starving yourself also leads to binging, which will also make it harder to lose weight.

You have to be patient. Everyone wants a quick-fix that will make them thin in a few weeks. But, just as it takes months or even years to get fat and out of shape, it also takes months, or even years, to get thin again.

The only effective way to lose weight and KEEP IT OFF is to exercise regularly and eat a healthy, balanced diet. Losing more than a few pounds a week is simply not healthy.
