If you're talking about a police report, you'll need to provide the officer with your name and insurance information, as well as the date, time and location of the accident. Be sure to also include any information you have on the other driver (name, insurance company and policy number, vehicle make/model and plate #). There's no guarantee that the police will even take the report if it wasn't reported right away, but you can try. Also, in most states, if the accident occured on private property (including most parking lots), they won't even send an officer to take a report. Hope this helps
The police arbitrarily chooses which car is considered Driver one and Driver two. You have to read the report to determine who is at fault.
You can get an accident report at the police station.
accident report
You go to the police, report the accident, file a report (to get a report number), and provide all the info the other driver gave you. Then you call your insurance company, file a claim, and provide all the info the other driver gave you.
If both drivers have no insurance and do not file a police report, each driver is responsible for repairing the damage to his/her own vehicle.
If you know the information, or as much information as you can get, about the other driver, furnish that to the police and/or your insurance carrier when you file your own report.
Yes, you will need to report your accident to the police. You should report all accidents to the police, so that you can file a claim with your insurance.
FILE A POLICE REPORT. IF THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED WHILE YOUR POLICY WAS CANCELLED NO I DOESNT COVER,
The driver at fault is liable for the collision, regardless of the other driver's actions post-collision. The fleeing driver may later be brought up on Hit and Run or Leaving the Scene of an Accident charges, but that will not change the at fault liability.
Who is at fault has to do with the accident itself not the insurance coverage. A police report of the accident and looking at the proximate cause of the accident help determine fault.
Ask the driver or owner of the vehicle. They are required to give you (and the police) that information at the time of the accident.AnswerOn an accident report, the police officer lists the insurance information. Contact the police department who responded to the scene to determine how to obtain a copy of the report.
