If you've just started taking Birth Control pills now then it will still work. However you need to be on BC for 4 weeks before you can have unprotected intercourse.

Can you start birth control during your period?

Yes you can start birth control while on your period. Usually your doctor will tell you to start on a Sunday so it's easier to remember when you first started your pack.If you get your period on the Sunday you start you still start on birth control.

I am going to start birth control pills and I started my period on the 15th day of the month how do I start my pills?

Take your first pill the Sunday after you get your period, even if you are still bleeding on that Sunday. You don't necessarily have be a Sunday starter, I just find it easier.

If you start your period on Sunday should you wait till next Sunday to start birth control?

If you plan to be a "Sunday starter" then the general rule would be that you should start your pack the Sunday after your period, or on the same day your period starts if your period starts on Sunday. For example, if you get your period on Friday you should still take the pill starting on Sunday, even if you still have your period. However, if you got your period on a Sunday you should start your pack that day. However, starting the birth control pill in the first five days of menstrual bleeding gives you immediate protection. Starting on Sunday has disadvantages. Traditionally, women in the US started the birth control pill on Sunday. This has an obvious disadvantage - your health care provider's office is closed on Sunday, and many women start their pill late when they notice too late that they're out of pills. Do yourself a favor and consider starting on a weekday, as they do in most other countries.

Does you period still start the same day of the week after restarting the Birth Control pill?

I recently just restarted birth control after a month of being off of it and was previously on it for a year, during this time I started my period every Tuesday, since restarting birth control would my period still be on a Tuesday if I was a Sunday starter?? :)

You have never taken the pill before and this will be your first time when is it best to start?

Your doctor should have instructed you on when to start; however in most cases a woman begins the pill on the first Sunday after her period even if she is still on her period.

Can you start birth control if im still on your period?

Yes. Using the pill is not reccommended just to stop a period, but normally doctors recommend that you start on a Sunday in accordance to the end of your period. Planning this with your original cycle will normally reduce side effects like spotting.

Do women get prengent during their period?

It can be possible but is very uncommon. If the egg is still present in the body then yes they could still become pregnant but if it has come out of the body at the start of the period then you cant.

Am I still protected if I didn't start the pill the Sunday after or the first day of my period?

If you're asking about hormonal birth control (i.e. pills, etc), I would assume you'd be less protected for a period of time (usually one cycle) because there's a possibility you may have already ovulated by mid-cycle. Birth control wouldn't help much if there's already an egg floating around in there!

Can you start your birth control now at the end of your cycle?

1. Sunday Start. Start the first pill of your pack on the first Sunday following the first day of your menstrual period. For example, if your period began on Tuesday, start your pills the following Sunday. If your period begins on Sunday, start your pills the same day. Use extra protection (condoms) for at least two weeks. You will have 28 pills to take. When you finish a pack of pills, start a new pack the next day regardless if you are still having a period or not. 2. Same Day Start. Begin your pills on the very first day of your menstrual period. No extra protection is needed if you are absolutely sure this is a normal period. Even though I would suggest you use condoms or some type of protection.

Are you not supposed to get a period while on the pill?

You should still get a period each month while on birth control. You will usually start your period during the week that you take your placebo pills, because they have no hormones in them. If you skip the placebo pills and start your active pills instead, this will delay your period.
