My friend is gluten free and she says, ''Well it doesn't make you ill it just gives you a painful stomach ache.''it can have effects on you later on in life as the smallest amount of gluten can damage the small intestine

No, because celiac is an autoimmune disease that occurs in those who are genetically predisposed to it. Like a person who goes vegan (or dairy-free) doesn't become lactose intolerant.

No because celiac disease is permanent to you. If you have celiac disease than you are allergic to gluten. There has been no case of that though.
