You need video editing software and a way to get the images into the computer. As an 8mm camcorder has only an RCA Composite output, this will require you to have a comparable input on your computer. You use the camcorder to play the tapes and input them into the computer. It will be necessary to purchase and install a composite video input card.

I have a Handycam video Hi8, I would like to make home movies on my computer using my camcorder video tapes. Can I do so with this camcorder?

You can find all sorts of Sony Camcorder tapes at B&H Photovideo http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?ci=14725&N=4294545235+4291215468 You can also find Sony Camcorder tapes on Quill.com

Digital camcorder tapes don't exist. this is because digital camcorders record digitally onto a hard drive. thus no tapes are really needed, which is good.

It depends on the camcorder that you have. Older camcorders with cassette tapes normally do not. However, you can take a screen capture of a video on the computer.

Maxell dv camcorder tapes have always been the best tape. They are one of the oldest brands to make and produce these tapes. Maxell also makes VCR tapes and some old CD's.

You can mail in VHS or mini-Dv tapes to companies like YesVideo.com, and pay about $20 per tape to have them converted. You could also purchase a cable to connect your VHS player or camcorder to your computer, ranging from about $35 to $80, load the video onto your computer, and burn what you capture to DVD.

The best way is to download them onto a computer, equipped with a DVD burner. The video can then be edited properly and then burnt to a disc. The computer needs a video capture card or dongle, which are often bundled with appropriate editing software. The cables then connect between the capture card and the camcorder, simply play back the material whilst watching on the computer, until the capture is finished. Alternatively, you can just hook up the output of the camera to a DVD recorders inputs. Play back the recording on the camera and hit record on the DVD recorder. You will only get a copy of the unedited material this way. It all depends on the sort of camcorder. I presume it uses tapes. Other types record onto memory sticks or mini discs. A memory stick recorder is simpler, as the files can be uploaded to a computer easier.

To transfer a VHS tape to a computer you need to have a VCR and an A/V input from the VCR to the computer. Also needed is a conversion software program. Once the VCR and computer are connected, the conversion software is used to manage the transfer.

Computer software, or just software is a general term used to describe a collection of computer programs, procedures, and the documentation with them that perform some tasks on a computer system. This includes firmwareSimply put Yes"Software" is sometimes used in a broader context to mean anything which is not hardware but which is used with hardware, such as film, tapes and records.

This depends on what your most concerned with. If it's picture and sound quality, then you'd be better off with a digital camcorder. If it's affordability of the unit and accessories (tapes, batteries, etc.) then this Hi8 camcorder might be the better pick for you.

no need, the camcorder is that machine cam(era) (re)corder...

Tapes for camcorders are still readily available despite the dominance of digital camcorders. One can go to Amazon, Best Buy, Future Shop, eBay, and Walmart to find tapes for camcorders at reasonable prices.

Hi8 should be backward-compatible with all cameras that use Video8.

Computer software, or just software is a general term primarily used for digitally stored data such as computer programs and other kinds of information read and written by computers. Today, this includes data that has not traditionally been associated with computers, such as film, tapes and records.

Put simply no. CDs, DVD's and tapes are things used to store the data that makes up software. Admittedly new software these days tends to come on CD or DVD, so this is an easy thing to confuse. In the early days of computers, when people had to invent new words to describe specific concepts, the words "Hardware" and "Software" were brought into common use. The Hardware was the physical devices and items that made up the computer. While the Software was any program that runs on the computer.

You can do this yourself if you have the right equipment or you can send it to a tape to DVD conversion service. I recommend using a tape to DVD conversion service. You will get the best quality and it will be the least hassle. - In principle it's easy, provided that you have (a) an "old" camcorder which can play your Video 8 / Hi 8 tapes/ VHS tapes, and also (b) a digital camcorder which can accept as input the analogue output from the "old" camcorder and produce digital output ("DV Out"). If you do have such equipment, the digital camcorder might either create a digital version of the footage (e.g. a mini DV tape) or it might be able to "pass through" so you can store the digital version straight to a PC or a DVD recorder. If you put it onto a PC, you can then (optionally) edit it it and then burn a DVD. I have done this myself using a Canon MV750i camcorder as the "pass through", but unfortunately the camcorder has just broken so I'm looking for another model which has this facility (it's probably cheaper to replace than repair). Does anyone know of a reasonably priced mini DV camcorder which offers this? If you don't have the digital camcorder described above, you'll need to find a device which does the conversion or alternatively install a video capture card in your PC. Whatever else, you'll obviously have to have something that plays the old tapes (the "old camcorder" referred to above). Plus you need a powerfull enough computer to handle the real time capture of the video.

The easiest way to copy VHS tapes to DVD is to purchase a VHS/DVD combo. It will allow you to pop in a tape and burn it to DVD without having to download software or hook up to computer.

Sony cam coder tape cost 10 usd,it depende on what type of sony camcorder tape you like.you can check it online ir in the store for more information about it.

Both software and the data it operates on is stored long term on hard disk or the ROM and short term in the RAM. In many computers in the past magnetic tapes, punched cards, or punched tapes were used instead of hard disks to store software and data long term. One thing to realize on modern computers is that software is just a special case of data (i.e. data that is executable code), the only difference is how the computer hardware interprets it as it reads it from RAM or ROM..

basically an HDD camera is a camera that has a hard drive in it for internal storage so no tapes or SD cards are needed.
