No, I was in the recruiters office one day, and a guy came in and asked if he could enlist, the recruiter asked if he had a diploma, he said no, and the recruiter told him to try the army.
You cannot not join without at least a GED and even with that you need 15 college credits.
You can study whatever you want as long as they're 100 level or above classes.
In TX, you should be able to graduate even at 15 if you have ALL your credits. I assume this is from a public school. If the young person wishes to enter a jr college, she/he could also get a GED and start at a community college. There have been many cases of young people entering college below 17. We have such a ruling in Midland TX.
15
They are referring to 15 college credits. That is equivalent to one semester (typically five courses). They cannot be (I believe) developmental courses, which are institutional credits taken as a result of the college basic skills test. I do not believe they require these courses be in specified areas. However, this is something you need to ask your recruiter.
No, you cannot. To enlish in the USMC, you must be at least 17 years old and have either a high school diploma or a GED and 15 college credits. For more in depth answers and advice, talk to your local recruiter. (This can be found on Marines.com)
