WJJEEPS.COM has a good write up on this but the short answer is the is a bolt that holds the headlight housing that you remove then gently pull the housing forward until it pop out of the clips.
If you have a Cherokee from 1984-1996 with speakers that would have gone in the tailgate, then if you take off the interior tailgate panel (be careful not to break any clips!) and the wiring should be behind it. Just install your new speakers and replace the interior tailgate panel. If you have a Cherokee from 1997-2001 with speakers that would have gone in the ceiling, then take down the headliner temporarily and wiring will be in the roof. It's probably easiest to get a soundbar off of eBay or at your local junkyard and install the bracket and soundbar in the factory location, then connect the wires to the speakers in the soundbar. There is always rear speaker wire going from the radio in the front to speakers in the rear.

Unclip the bulb, insert new bulb, then place back in housing. Put housing back in its proper spot and push the clips back down.
You will need to remove the rear seatbelt bolts and pretty much all the back paneling (screws towards floor and some clips behind handles. Once you do that you can remove the speakers (6x9 with about 4inches of depth)
You do not need to remove the door panel to change your speakers. Remove the speaker cover, by prying outward on the speaker cover retaining clips. Remove the speaker retaining screws. Remove the wiring harness from the back of the speaker.
You have to remove the door panels. You can use 6.5" speakers with a little bit of adaptation. You can search for door panel removal. There are 4 screws, a couple of clips and clips around the edge of the door panel.
