How do you activate if a laptop is locked by bios settings due to unregistration?

Sounds a bit fishy, but you can plug in a flash drive containing another operating system and configure it as your default boot device (BIOS Settings) and then boot to it.

When you plug your DVD drive in your computer wont boot from the hard drive Any Ideas?

Your Bios has an option to boot from your DVD Drive or external drive. If the internal or external drive has no boot sector or disc with a boot sector the system will not boot. You will need to go into your bios at boot time most often by tapping your delete key or whatever option your motherboard bios requires and change the option back to boot from your hard drive.

What is the purposes of boot priority in BIOS configuration?

How do you bring a computer out of bios when it boots up to an older hard drive with windows 2000 on it?

BIOS is looking for a boot sector. If the disk does not have a valid boot sector at the address which is also known by the BIOS, it won't boot from disk.

How can boot from CD?

Set the BIOS boot order to include the CD. You can change the BiOS when you start the computer, usually something like the key will go to BIOS instead of the boot partition.Don't fool around with things you don't understand, but you should be able to find the settings that deal with boot order. Put the CD BEFORE the C drive, then if there is a bootable CD in the drive the computer will try to boot from there.I can't give more detailed instructions than that because so many of the BIOS screens are unique. But you should be able to read about the BIOS in the documentation that came with your motherboard.

How do you boot your sata hdd connected to a sata pci-e controller card?

You PC should see the hard drive, if it doesn't or you don't have your quick boot shut off, this way you don't see the post, then go into the bios and change your boot setting to boot from this hard drive, or if you just want it too boot one time then at the start of the PC, usually hit f8 or an f key that say when your PC starts, boot- use this key and you can boot from which ever drive you want. If you don't see the drive in the bios, something is wrong, either the card or drive is bad if it does not show. There is a chance you might have to start your operating system and configure the drive under admin tools, computer management , storage. Depends on the motherboard.

If a had drive is in master-configuration is it the first device?

no, the BIOS is what chooses the first Boot device. YOU can change the first boot device by altering the BIOS. if however, you are talking about 1st, 2nd hard drive etc, then yes.

How do you booth to a CD and not the hard drive?

Usually if you have a bootable CD in your CD drive it will automatically boot, if not you will need to change your BIOS settings so it boots from CD before attempting to boot from your hard drive. To do so on start up it says "Press Del to enter setup" so press delete. It should be in "Boot configuration" or "Advanced BIOS" and there will be options "First boot device" and "Second boot device" and so on, go to first press enter and then click across until it says CD drive. Then go to second and change it to what first used to be. Tada, save and exit BIOS and on restart you'll boot from the CD if there is one in there.
