Physically, only you can figure that one out. Mentally, by guilt tripping you. Legally, not unless she has you commited. Maybe you should talk to her and find out exactly what the problem is. I'm sure she has reasons which, at least she feels, could be valid.

Physically? Or as a pet? Physically, I would say generally no. Not unless you don't bathe them for months on end. As a pet, it depends on their personality when you first get the dog!
i think when you get to a certain age like i think 60 or so, you should have regular eye checks and maybe once every six months or a year have to take a skills course.
