I'm sorry you're feeling so badly. The rash you had may be key-as you may know, this is the classic lesion associated with Lyme disease. Lyme disease is due to a bacterial infection with Borrelia Burgdorferi and is spread by a certain kinds of tick. It manifests in three stages, the earliest involving the rash and a viral-like syndrome. Untreated, the disease can disseminate (spread) over the course of weeks to months and even years. More extensive dissemination can lead to symptoms like joint pain, muscle weakness, and neurological problems such as cognitive deficiencies (like memory or concentration problems). Diagnosis of Lyme disease begins with a blood test; significant neurologic symptoms may require MRI of the brain or a sample of the fluid in your spinal column. Night sweats and fatigue can be indicative of an acute or chronic infection or even a cancer, or they may be associated with an underlying metabolic process. Many of your symptoms could be explained by the hyponatremia (headaches, trouble with concentration, and muscle weakness), but the reason for hyponatremia must always be determined. There are many potential causes, the simplest of which is medications. Others include chronic heart, liver or kidney disease; dehydration; and syndrome of inappropriate anti-diuretic hormone secretion (SIADH). SIADH, in turn, can be due to a variety of causes. Sometimes it occurs by itself. Other times, it may be due to an underlying cancer or neurological problem (either in the brain or the nerves), or lung problem. You have many significant symptoms throughout the body, and it can be challenging to connect them to one diagnosis. But I would consider testing for Lyme disease as well as a complete evaluation for the cause of the hyponatremia. With your specific symptoms, I would consider a neurological evaluation to be important (trouble with walking and balance, headaches, hyponatremia), as well as testing for lung disease. Additionally, if your hoarseness is new and worsening, it is important to see an otolaryngologist for assessment of your vocal cords.
